The Dacia Spring once again saw its price increase in the space of a month. This time around, all versions go up by 600 euros.
The current situation is not favorable to the automotive sector. Between the semiconductor crisis and the war in Ukraine, which posed certain supply problems, many manufacturers had to adjust their specifications, postpone certain releases and even increase the price of their vehicles.
In recent times, Volkswagen has clearly been in turmoil at its expense. Tesla, for its part, has profoundly changed its French price list by skipping the maximum ecological bonus of the Model 3 Propulsion, the entry level of the catalog. On the Dacia side, it’s not time to party either.
+600 euros on the bill
At the beginning of April, the Romanian subsidiary of Renault was already revising upwards the prices of its Spring, the most affordable electric car on the market. This urban SUV, for example, had seen its Business version increase by 1300 euros. Bad news: the whole range is getting a further increase, as noticed by Auto Moto.
Just take a look at the model’s configurator to realize this: in total, 600 euros have been added to the final score of each iteration. The Comfort finish is now priced at 19,290 euros, excluding ecological bonuses. With (27% of the purchase price within the limit of 6,000 euros), its acquisition costs 14,082 euros.
Nobody really wins
Same observation on the side of the Comfort Plus finish, whose 20,790 euros (against 20,190 euros previously) drop to 15,177 euros thanks to government aid. This inflation is clearly not in anyone’s favour: on the one hand, manufacturers are forced to raise prices due to the rising cost of raw materials and the shortage of components.
In fact, their catalog becomes less attractive because of higher prices: sales can therefore be impacted. On the other, consumers have to deal with a more expensive offer and must therefore put their hands in their pockets to get an electric one. Even though all that goes beyond them.
