Connecting an HDMI key to your TV to connect it is now the easiest way to enjoy a Smart TV. Some references are even very accessible, like Amazon’s Fire TV Stick Lite, which is now available at 19 euros instead of 29 euros on the platform.
If the functions of your television are not complete enough, multimedia boxes will fill this gap. But it is all the same the HDMI dongles which, today, represent better solutions since they are more compact and discreet. You will be able to enjoy a brand new operating system on your TV. Several models are present on the market, but Amazon’s Fire TV Sticks are at the top of the podium, thanks to their very good value for money. The Lite model is the one that currently interests us the most thanks to its price which drops below 20 euros.
The highlights of the Fire TV Stick Lite
- An HDMI key at a lower cost
- Content in 1080p at 60 fps
- Alexa presence for voice requests
Usually offered at 29.99 euros, the Fire TV Stick Lite is now displayed at 19.99 euros on Amazon.
Other Amazon media gateways also benefit from reductions. The classic Fire TV Stick thus goes from 39.99 euros to 24.99 euros. As for the Fire TV Stick 4K, it is offered at 34.99 euros instead of 59.99 euros. To go upmarket, you can also choose the Fire TV Stick 4K Max which is trading at 39.99 euros instead of 64.99 euros.

A compact alternative to media boxes
If HDMI keys like the Fire TV Stick are a good alternative to multimedia boxes, it’s largely thanks to their compact and much more discreet format. Like the other models in the Amazon range, the Fire TV Stick Lite therefore comes in the form of a dongle to be plugged into the HDMI port of a television, like a Chromecast. But unlike the latter, which requires a device such as a smartphone or tablet to broadcast its content, Amazon’s solution is self-sufficient since it integrates its own operating system. Its small size makes it more easily transportable.
With this Fire TV Stick Lite, more affordable than the other versions, you can enjoy a very fluid user experience under Fire OS, which is naturally centered on the services offered by Amazon. Prime Video will obviously be there, and will even offer you a host of content suggestions based on your profile. Even if the application store is less extensive than its Apple and Android TV competitors, you can still download other flagship applications such as Netflix, MyCanal, YouTube or even Molotov.
No 4K, but many other features
The Fire TV Stick Lite is a slimmed down version of the classic model. So, some concessions will have to be made. We will therefore not have Dolby Atmos for sound or 4K here unlike the Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max, but we will still be able to take advantage of compatibility with HDR (HDR10 and HDR10+ including). Streaming in 1080p at 60 frames per second will also be included. Another small downside, but less annoying: the supplied remote control has fewer buttons than that of other references. We will therefore not be able to control our TV (volume, power off, etc.), but a button to summon the Alexa assistant will obviously be present, and that is still the main thing. Alexa will then be able to respond to all your voice requests, whether they concern your content on the television or your connected objects present at home, by simply pressing the button provided for this purpose.
