The rumor does not date from yesterday, but Apple could offer its own search engine in the near future according to a source. We could therefore soon see the arrival of an alternative from a major player in the face of Google’s hegemony in this sector.
Does Apple have views on the Google model? This is what one might think when rumors suggest that the Cupertino company could also embark on the creation of its own search engine for the Web.
Oh, and a new search engine is coming too. Will Siri finally get “smart?” Hmmm.

An alternative to Google’s offer?
In any case, this is what American blogger Robert Scoble suggests, according to whom Google’s rival has plans for a future user-centered search engine. According to him, this novelty would arrive in the near future at Apple, but he did not give additional details. According to his statements, he would be based on conversations with sources in the industry, but also partly on inferences.
It wouldn’t be the first time that Apple has come to compete with a popular service from Google. Apple Plans had thus come to rub shoulders with Google Maps, but without immediately meeting the expected success. The brand also already has a search engine that powers Siri and Spotlight.
The company could therefore choose to extend it to be able to offer a service similar to that of Google. In any case, the search engine mentioned by Scoble would not arrive until at least January 2023.
A secondary search engine, first
But what about the brand’s future devices? Will they arrive with this new search engine? Not so sure. It should also be remembered that the Californian giant had signed a $15 billion agreement with Google last year to let its rival’s search engine be the default search engine on iOS, which would account for around 15 to 20% of its annual profits. It is clearly not negligible.
Apple would therefore not really have to gain financially for once. This rumor is to be taken with a lot of tweezers. The source itself warns:Consider everything I say about Apple unreliable. But well informed“.
