With the restrictions linked to the Covid-19 in China, the production of the future 27-inch mini LED screen from Apple would have been delayed. Its marketing would therefore be postponed to next October.
The mini LED version of the Studio Display would arrive later than expected, for release next October. In any case, this is revealed by a specialist in the screen industry, who announces that production in Shanghai has been delayed due to blockages linked to the pandemic.
Apple’s mini LED screen sees its production turned upside down
The president of the Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) Ross Young published a tweet on May 20 in which he announced the delay in the production of the next screen from Apple. He announces that the latterwas going to be produced at Quanta in Shanghai» ; it is a subcontractor of Apple. However, Shanghai is currently in lockdown under the Chinese government’s zero Covid policy. A policy which, if it does not completely interrupt the factories, leads to heavy delays in production.
Apple leak! The 27″ MiniLED monitor has been delayed as it was going to be produced at Quanta in Shanghai which has been locked down. Production is in the process of being moved to a different location and has been delayed. It now looks like an October release.

Ross Young therefore announces that “Production is being moved to another location and has been delayed“.
A release of the next Studio Display mini LED version for October 2022
The official date of this screen has not yet been announced by Apple nor the initial release date. The analysis therefore expects a release next October in the event that production has actually been delayed. A period not very surprising since it is in October that the new Macs are traditionally presented.
This Pro version of the Studio Display was first expected to be presented in June 2022, at Apple’s WWDC conference. If production has been delayed, it is highly likely that the Apple brand will decide not to announce the 27-inch Studio Display Pro with mini LEDs. Apple’s next screen would not be the only one to be impacted by Chinese health policy since the iPhone 14 could also be late.
