The summer of video games really begins this Thursday evening at 8 p.m. with the Summer Game Fest online conference. Once again, the event should be an opportunity to stock up on new features and learn a little more about the most anticipated games of the moment.

It should have been a great year for video games and for new consoles, but many blockbusters have already been postponed to 2023, like Starfieldthe next major game from Bethesda, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or God of War Ragnarok.
So it’s time to fill up on promises for the end of the year and, for that, the Summer Game Fest organized by Geoff Keighley is the perfect time. Since the 2020 pandemic and the creation of the event to provide an additional showcase for the industry, the event has become a must for both fans and professionals in the sector. For several weeks, the latter therefore placed their conference under the Summer Game Fest flag, from Xbox to Devolver, via Capcom and even Netflix.
What is Summer Game Fest?
Organized by Geoff Keighley, the creator of the Game Awards and Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, the Summer Game Fest brings together the main players in the video game industry, publishers and manufacturers, who organize their online conference under the same banner, at a time of year that used to be E3. While waiting for the return of the famous fair which should be reborn in 2023, the Summer Game Fest is holding its 3rd edition, without competition for the moment and with the main players at its side, with the exception of Sony which held its State of Play the Last week. EA Play Live, now postponed to July 22, closes the video game window.
Tomorrow, #SummerGameFest is live with world premiere new looks at:

Beyond simple online conferences, the event also broadcasts a symphony concert dedicated to Sonic (June 23) and part of Netflix Geeked Week devoted to video games carried by the streaming service.
Among the most anticipated events, we note in particular the conference organized by Xbox and Bethesda, the always barred Devolver which will follow just after the Days of the Devs which are an opportunity to discover the gameplay of highly anticipated independent games (and in particular Planet of Lana This year). The meeting is also celebrating its 10th anniversary, carried by iam8bit or Double Fine, the studio behind Psychonauts 2.

Devolver does not always have major games to present, but the totally offbeat tone of all its conferences is already worth the detour (even if sometimes good taste is not there…). Capcom has already planned a big raout to talk about the next Resident Evil 8variations in augmented reality or also street fighter 6.
But it’s Geoff Keighley’s Kickoff Live this Thursday that will set the tone.
