The Indian Twitter account of the Poco brand has come to make an official announcement which includes the arrival of a new model in its F range.
The Indian division of the Poco brand has officially announced the arrival of a new model for its F series. It is via a tweet from the brand’s Indian account that we learn of the arrival of what is believed to be the Poco F4.
A rather enigmatic post
We had already been treated to the Poco F4 GT with an emphasis on the gaming part, this time we should be entitled to a more complete model. The post in question which emphasizes the philosophy of the brand and announces a new chapter to come for its range. For the moment, no date has yet been advanced, so we will have to wait a little longer to see the successor to the Poco F3 land.
The message specifies that this time it will not be a GT model but a smartphone focused on a more “global” experience and evokes a worthy successor to what the brand’s very first smartphone could offer to its time, the Poco F1.
The revival of the flagship killer?
The Poco F4 should therefore presumably be an inexpensive device from the brand and very well equipped for the price. Nothing is confirmed, but this phone would be entitled to a 6.67-inch 120 Hz OLED screen, a Snapdragon 870 5G SoC, 6 to 12 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage and a 4500 mAh battery as well as to 67 W fast charging. It should also arrive with the latest version of Xiaomi’s interface, MIUI 13, based on Android 12. The processor used would therefore be a step below what the Poco F4 GT already offers.
Images believed to be of the device in question have also surfaced. We see a two-part camera module with three photo lenses arranged in a triangle. This seems very similar to the module of the Redmi K40S launched in China last March, well almost since the module here sports a 64 Mpx sensor, against only 48 Mpx on the K40S. This would also be accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2MP macro sensor.
The Poco F4 GT cost 599 euros when it was launched in France, so we can reasonably think that this model would arrive for its part at a much more attractive price given what it offers. The Poco F3, for example, was offered at a price of 369 euros when it was launched and has since been easily found below 250 euros.
