Only two months after its arrival on the service, God of War is already preparing its departure. Fortunately, Nvidia offers a method to retain access to the game.
The arrival of God of War on GeForce Now was one of the highlights of the service in April. We are talking about one of Sony’s big blockbusters in recent years and the first PlayStation Studio game on Nvidia’s service.
Unfortunately, Nvidia informs us that only a few weeks after its arrival, God of War will officially leave the GeForce Now service.
God of War at the center of game services news
Starting July 1, it will no longer be possible to access the God of War game for new players on GeForce Now. Obviously, if you purchased it from Steam or the Epic Games Store, the game is still available to install on your PC through those distributors. The calendar is still very special.
God of War arrived in April on GeForce Now as we said, after a PC launch in January 2022. It then arrives in June on the PlayStation Plus Essential. And now it disappears from GeForce Now, while we are also still waiting for the God of War Ragnarok sequel on PS5.
Nvidia does not explain in its press release the reasons for this departure. Games leaving the GeForce Now service are rather rare these days, since the big departure of several publishers in 2020.
How to keep access to the game
However, the firm gives us a tip to keep access to the game, even after it leaves the GeForce Now library.
As part of the GeForce NOW opt-in process, certain games may continue to be available to members on a legacy basis. This will allow members who have started playing a game at least once on GeForce NOW to continue playing it, even after the game has been removed for users who have not played it.
If you are interested in God of War on GeForce Now, you must therefore have launched the game at least once before July 1 to maintain access after its departure.
