Normally, dark mode activates if it is already on your smartphone, but it can also activate when you turn on your headlights. It is useful at night to avoid screen glare. The day mode is reversed for good readability of the information displayed.
Google Maps locks in dark mode in several of them, an issue that appears depending on the app’s display settings. According 9to5Google, the problem would come from the latest updates of Android Auto and Google Maps, 11.33 for the latter. For now, Google hasn’t indicated a fix or date, just having taken note of the problem. Moreover, version 11.34 published a few days ago did not change anything in this. However, a user spotted by the media says that version 11.35 has corrected the problem.
How to Unblock Google Maps on Android Auto
To fix this dark mode problem, you can simply change the display mode on your smartphone. Other than that, you can install an older version of Google Maps that doesn’t have this issue. Finally, you can simply abandon this navigation application in favor of another, Waze for example.
