The Serial 1 BASH/MTN is a new electric bike designed for mountain and all-terrain. Designed by a Harley-Davidson entity, this model is available in a limited edition. Half of the production is reserved for Europe.

In 2019, Harley-Davidson displayed certain ambitions in the field of electric bicycles. In November 2020, the Serial brand was introduced with great fanfare, accompanied by a first catalog consisting of four high-end models. The most affordable of the bikes – the Serial 1 MOSH/CTY – still cost 3999 euros in France.
To continue to bring its offer to life, Harley-Davidson has decided to launch a limited edition specially cut for off-road. Its name: Serial 1 BASH/MTN, capped at 1050 copies, half of which is reserved for the European market. The other half will be confined to the United States, specifies The Verge.
More suitable tires
The Serial 1 BASH/MTN is largely inspired by the Serial 1 MOSH/CTY that we tested. The duo shares several technical elements, from the Gates Carbon Drive belt transmission to the Brose S Mag mid-engine, TRP hydraulic disc brakes and LED lights.
During our test, the engine, the braking system and the stability of the machine clearly convinced us. On this point, Serial 1 BASH/MTN should therefore be reassuring. A few modifications have also been made to switch it to the e-MTB category.

Harley-Davidson has notably opted for Michelin E-Wild studded tires, which should provide much better grip on the ground, especially on uneven terrain. Also, an SR Suntour NCX suspension seatpost has been added to absorb shocks as little as possible.
We can however regret the absence of front or rear suspensions which could have guaranteed much more comfort and damping.
In terms of autonomy, the Serial 1 BASH/MTN relies on a 529 Wh battery giving it a range of 56 to 168 kilometers, the same configuration as the Serial 1 MOSH/CTY. At the time, we were able to cover about fifty kilometers (with the most powerful assistance mode) before running out of energy.
Always expensive
However, this estimate should be tempered for the Serial 1 BASH/MTN, since the type of terrain such as the forest or the mountain can impact the range. On the other hand, the huge torque of 90 Nm should guarantee excellent pick-up and acceleration worthy of the name uphill.
Recently partnered with Google, this model will also be entitled to a mobile application containing various driving information and other data on your journeys. Finally, a special color has been imagined for the occasion: Yucca Tan, which tends to blend in with nature.
Serial 1 BASH/MTN will be available at a suggested retail price of $3,999. Its European price is not yet known, nor its release date.
