Huawei has just announced its new pair of wireless headphones, the Huawei FreeBuds 5i, with noise reduction and LDAC codec support.

At Huawei, the best wireless headphones are not necessarily the most expensive. For a few years, the Chinese manufacturer has offered several ranges of headphones with the FreeBuds Pro, the numbered FreeBuds and the FreeBuds i. These are by far the best value for money offered by the firm with convincing noise reduction and an affordable price.
The new Huawei FreeBuds 5i, unveiled this Wednesday by the firm, are no exception. We are dealing here with wireless headphones with stems equipped with an in-ear format which therefore offers passive isolation capable of blocking external sounds upstream. In addition to this passive isolation, the FreeBuds 5i each have two microphones to reduce ambient noise through phase inversion.
The audio part has not been forgotten and, this is a first for Huawei headphones, the FreeBuds 5i are compatible with the LDAC codec in addition to SBC and AAC. They are Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified and allow sound transmission up to 990 kbps. The manufacturer has also integrated 10 mm transducers in each of its headphones as well as automatic adjustment of equalization according to the shape of your ear, external noise or sound volume.

Also on the wearing comfort side, the Huawei FreeBuds 5i should set the bar high with a weight of only 4.6 grams for each earphone and an IPX5 waterproof certification that guarantees protection against rain, splashes or sweat. The case meanwhile is rather compact with an ovoid shape and a size of 48.2 x 61.8 x 26.9 mm. On the battery side, there are 55 mAh batteries in the headphones themselves and a capacity of 410 mAh in the case. Enough to allow up to 6 hours of listening with the noise reduction activated according to Huawei, with a total of 18.5 hours thanks to the case.

For now, the Huawei FreeBuds 5i have only been announced in China. They are offered in black, white or light blue, at a price of 600 yuan, or 84 euros. Until now, Huawei has always launched its i-series earphones in France. We can therefore expect a marketing in France in the coming weeks.
