A successful convertible ultra-portable
The Huawei MateBook E is inspired by Microsoft’s Surface by opting for a convertible format. It is a portable PC whose keyboard is detachable for tablet use. This format is ideal for mobile users, especially since it will be easy to transport with its weight of only 709 grams and 8 mm thick.
As for the design of the product, the MateBook E makes a good impression with its simple aluminum design and a matte back that is pleasant to the touch. Huawei made the (good) choice to integrate an OLED panel in 2,560 x 1,600 definition on 12.9 inches. The contrast ratio is excellent and the borders of the screen measure only 5.3 mm, accentuating the immersion. Also tactile, you will be able to use the brand’s stylus to take notes directly, or draw.
Sufficient daily performance
The Huawei MateBook is not a power monster, but comes up against some ultrabooks by offering an integration of an 11th generation Intel Core. This model has an i5 1130G7 associated with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD. This configuration has the capacity to perform simple office tasks without slowing down. She will be able to run a few light leisure and creative applications such as photo editing. To note, it works under Windows 11 and aside connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 are included.
Finally for autonomy, it is not the most enduring. Due to its small format, Huawei had to use a small battery. During our test, the PC lasted 6 hours 35 minutes. Fortunately compatibility with fast charging saves the day. In 30 minutes you will be able to recover more than half of the battery. A very good point against the competition. Finally, there is only one USB-C that supports Thunderbolt 4, a 3.5 mm headphone port… it’s light on the connector side.
