As part of the Star Wars Celebration, LG has created a special Star Wars edition of its 65-inch version C2 OLED TV. But buying it will be very complicated, if not impossible: too bad for you, fortunately for your wallet.
LG is teaming up with Star Wars to create a special edition of its 65-inch OLED C2 model, enough to make fans of the saga envious. But for us, it will not be possible to get it unfortunately, since this LG TV is only available in the United States. The icing on the cake: there are only 501 copies of this special edition.
(Small) changes for a Star Wars-style TV
The Star Wars Celebration is taking place right now in Anaheim, California on the outskirts of Los Angeles. It is a gathering of fans of the Star Wars franchise who come together to buy merchandise, attend conferences, do cosplay and more generally share his passion for the saga.
LG is therefore unveiling a special edition Star Wars TV: its real name is Star Wars LG OLED evo. It has a redesigned Star Wars style, an exclusive content gallery and comes in a box with Darth Vader on it. But it is also the user interface that is modified with a modified appearance and sounds with lightsaber sound effects. They can be activated with the ” magic remote control (that’s the adjective used by LG and actually it’s not very appropriate) that looks like a lightsaber and will act like one.
The exclusive content will actually be special Star Wars-themed artwork that can be displayed in the TV’s Gallery Mode. It is storyboards originals, illustrated images, film posters or film scenes.
501 copies which will be snapped up
These C2 OLED TVs only exist in 501 copies, obviously in reference to the 501st Legion – a fan club that creates and wears replicas of Imperial troop armor. LG announces that each unit will receive a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Enough to artificially raise – it must be recognized – the value of this television. However, the manufacturer has not revealed the price of its television, but we can assume that it will have no trouble selling the 501 copies.
