At this price, one would think that the Gener will be a hit. It offers a pleasant design, a respectable autonomy but too little power, limiting its speed to 25 km/h.
Even if the Lvneng brand does not tell you much, the company is still one of the most important in the Chinese electric scooter market. It now intends to establish itself in Europe with a wide range of electric two-wheelers, including the X1, which we tested a few months ago.
The manufacturer does not intend to stop there and has just announced a new product to expand its range, the Gener. This is a small 1620 x 755 x 1050 mm scooter with a sporty and sleek design. This aspect is accentuated by the LED optics and the large circular display in the center of the handlebar.
Exclusively urban use
The Gener is mainly intended for the city. Indeed, its 810W Bosch motor will not allow it to exceed 25 km/h, thus reserving its use for urban roads and short journeys. On the other hand, its 25 Ah 48W LG battery gives it a range of 80 to 110 km, which is respectable for its category.
The transport of a passenger will have to remain occasional, the Gener having no real footrests, or even a real handrail, not to mention the small size of the saddle. In addition, the 10″ rims and the maximum load of 168 kg dissuade all the more to move with two. Only the large tubular frame should allow acceptable comfort for daily journeys.
An affordable and well-equipped scooter
The Gener is launched at a price of 1,699 euros, from which 100 euros of ecological bonus will have to be deducted. It comes standard with a rack, a USB socket, an alarm and a remote control with keyless start. The price may seem affordable, but its too low power and its speed limited to 25 km / h should unfortunately not make it a bestseller.
