The Android 13 beta 1-style Material You confirms that Google wants to further expand the color scheme possibilities promised by its flagship aesthetic feature. For the time being, this one does not quite work with 16 color themes, but it is now possible to affirm that the option is coming.
When an idea is good, tech giants tend to push it to the limit. First round of rab for Android 12, Material You and its multiple colors: its interface colorization options are multiplied by four on Android 13.
This information had leaked more than once, but the release of Android 13 beta 1 confirms it for the first time. Several American publications, including Android Policespotted him.
From four to sixteen options
In practice, if you install this latest version of the OS on your phone (preferably a Pixel), here is what you should see. On the left, we have the old menu that we know well, on the right, the new one with, just below the colors, four small dots.

These four dots are the sign that you can scroll three to the right to find up to sixteen different color options, compared to four previously. In addition to offering more variety, these new themes seem to try a little more daring and eccentric color palettes for some.
For now, the feature does not seem quite developed, beta requires. So no testers were able to show these new color themes in action. But the presence of the option on beta 1 underlines its imminent arrival with certainty.
Google is expected to officially showcase all future Android 13 features at Google I/O, scheduled for May 11-12. The Mountain View company should also reveal more to us about the Pixel 6a and the Pixel Watch.
