Some information is emerging as the Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro nears its launch. This new rugged smartphone would step up a gear in terms of performance thanks to a Snapdragon 778G.
Inevitably less known than the Galaxy A and S ranges, Samsung’s XCover lineage has a much more robust design for it, offering increased durability for users who need a reinforced smartphone capable of withstanding the worst treatments. Certified MIL-STD-810 and IP68, but insufficiently efficient, the XCover 5 Pro would soon give way to a new, more efficient model: the very logically named Galaxy XCover 6 Pro.
The device is seeing several of its specs leaked this week as its launch nears. We thus learn from Android Authority that the machine has been listed on the Google Play Console and on the site of the Bluetooth SIG consortium, suggesting an upcoming marketing.
Samsung would like to give much more tone to its reinforced mobile
If we are to believe the information listed on the Google Play Console, the new Galaxy XCover 6 Pro would this time be equipped with a Snapdragon 778G. Positioned on Qualcomm’s “classy” mid-range (at least before the arrival of the brand new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, announced last week), this SoC launched in 2021 develops a very sufficient level of performance to outclass the too modest performance XCover 5 Pro (limited to an Exynos 9611 chip). Still according to information compiled by Android Authority, the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro would be equipped with 6 GB of RAM and a Full HD + screen.
The device would also be equipped with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and could carry two SIM cards if necessary. It would also take advantage of Qualcomm’s FastConnect 6700 suite to boost its connectivity. For the time being, however, we do not know if this new Galaxy XCover 6 Pro will have, like its predecessors, a removable battery that can be easily replaced. The price of the device is also not certain, but we can reasonably expect a placement around 500 euros, the current Xcover 5 Pro being available at 509 euros on the Samsung France catalog.
