The Xiaomi 12S would integrate a relatively small panel as well as new photo algorithms. Both phones would be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus while the Pro version for its part, could take a look at the Dimensity 9000.

If you know Xiaomi well, you will probably not be surprised to learn that the manufacturer is working on new Xiaomi 12, titled Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro. The leaker Digital Chat Station (via Gizmochina), officiating on Weibo, has just shared initial information on these phones.
The smaller of the two friends would persist in the direction taken by the Chinese giant with its Xiaomi 12, by also offering a “small screen”. We can probably expect a 6.2 or even 6.1 inch panel. It would be a curved panel, with FHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
New hardware-level algorithm
Also according to the leaker, the Xiaomi 12S would compose with a main sensor of 50 megapixels, which would benefit from a “new algorithm” based on the hardware.
What are we to understand by this? No doubt this is a reference to the future chip of the device, which should benefit from a new component dedicated to photography. We think of a new NPU (Neural Processing Unit) or a new ISP.
As a reminder, this would be consistent with the latest rumors that the Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro would be among the first phones to feature Qualcomm’s new chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. His presentation is expected on May 20.
New screen on the Xiaomi 12S Pro
The Xiaomi 12S Pro for its part, would be equipped with a QHD + screen. From what we understand, it would have some improvements compared to the one present on the Xiaomi 12 Pro, without further details at this stage. One can imagine better cooling technology, such as LTPO 2.0 for example.
As pointed out Gizmochina, the Xiaomi 12S Pro could also offer a second version equipped with a MediaTek chip, the overpowered Dimensity 9000. For the moment, no notable flagship has opted for this SoC in 2022 for its marketing in Europe. It would also be the first premium phone from Xiaomi to opt for a Dimensity chip.
