Xiaomi has renewed its range of accessible smartphones by unveiling several devices including the Redmi Note 11S. It is an inexpensive smartphone, but it is not devoid of interest. It becomes cheaper by going from 279.90 euros to 244.39 euros.
If the competition is getting tougher and tougher, Xiaomi remains one of the major players in the entry/mid-range smartphone segment. The Chinese firm has also strengthened its position by unveiling its new series of balanced smartphones, the Redmi Note 11 range. Among them, the S version is the one that attracts attention, as it has a solid technical sheet at an affordable price. Same as classic version
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S takes up a good part of the technical sheet of the classic model. It displays the same design, the same size and the same dimensions. The Note 11S is also composed of a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen in Full HD + with a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
To continue with the similarities, the Redmi Note 11S also incorporates a 5,000 mAh battery, enough for the phone to last 1 to 2 days away from an outlet. It also benefits from fast charging up to 33 W which recovers around 50% in about thirty minutes. We also note the presence of an NFC chip, a 3.5 mm jack port as well as an IP53 certification.
But a cut above
With a lot of commonalities, the S version of the Redmi Note 11 still has some differences. The Redmi Note 11S relies on a Helio G96, with 6 GB of RAM, a more efficient chip compared to that used on the classic model (Snapdragon 680 from Qualcomm, with 4 GB of RAM). In fact, the user experience remains similar and offers good daily fluidity. However, MediaTek’s SoC is more efficient at running 3D games. On the software side, it is of course the latest version of the home interface, MIUI 13 based on Android 11.
Another advantage for the S model: its photo module which, physically identical to the 11 is nevertheless different since it embeds a main sensor of 108 megapixels against 50 on the classic version. This allows for better photo quality with more detail. Otherwise we find an ultra wide-angle, a macro and a depth which will provide good versatility.
