The OnePlus Nord 2T is the new mid-range smartphone from the Chinese brand. It takes the basics of its predecessor, but adds some interesting elements. And although it has just arrived on the market, it is already on sale at some e-tailers.
After a OnePlus Nord 2 which rather seduced us last year, the Chinese brand is returning to center stage in May 2022 with a new iteration of its high-performance and affordable smartphone: the Nord 2T. This version of the smartphone offers better performance or even more efficient fast charging for the same price as the old model thanks to this launch offer.
Where to buy the OnePlus Nord 2T?
The OnePlus Nord 2T is marketed at 429 euros for the 8+128 GB model. However, it is already possible to get it cheaper on the Fnac and Darty sites, because the two brands offer an immediate discount of 30 euros at the basket.
As for the 12+256 GB version, it is normally sold at a recommended retail price of 529 euros, but Boulanger has already softened the final bill with an immediate discount of 50 euros at the basket.
In both cases, you will also be able to get a pair of Buds Z2 wireless headphones for free (worth 99 euros) thanks to OnePlus’ introductory offer valid until next May 31.
OnePlus Nord 2T: a smartphone with great assets
The OnePlus Nord 2T is difficult to distinguish from its predecessor, since it has exactly the same design, whether in front or behind. The only small difference is in the screen. The latter is still 6.43-inch AMOLED with a Full HD + definition of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz, but its format changes to 20:9. It is therefore a little higher with 159.1 mm against 158.9 mm previously and retains the same width, namely 73.2 mm.
Unsurprisingly, the photo module is in all respects similar, whether aesthetically or in terms of the composition of the sensors. We then find once again a main 50 megapixel (the Sony IMX766), an ultra wide-angle of 8 megapixels and a depth of 2 megapixels. The shots captured will therefore be of good quality, but with already known defects, such as excessive compression in the background. For selfies, you can once again count on a solid 32-megapixel sensor.
What will really change with this Nord 2T is fast charging. This goes from 65 W to 80 W, like the OnePlus 10 Pro. This then promises to fully charge the smartphone in only about thirty minutes. The accumulator is still 4,500 mAh and therefore promises autonomy of more than a day. Regarding raw performance, the Chinese brand remains on the side of MediaTek and we go from a Diuimensity-1200 to a Dimensity-1300. The gap between the two processors shouldn’t be huge, but it’s always good to get a little more fluidity in 3D games and the interface. The latter is also very pleasant, since under the latest version of OxygenOS based on Android 12.
