To achieve this objective, and while the firm wishes to achieve a 70% rate of electric sales by 2030, it continues to develop its trendy range, called ID. And the least we can say is that the novelties are linked, with the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 and the youngest, the Volkswagen ID.Buzz unveiled last March.
A sportier version
In order to seduce customers and the most refractory to electricity, Volkswagen has also created the GTX badge, first affixed to the ID.4. So it’s official, the electric van will also have its hormone-fed version. A first for the brand, which had never previously marketed a Combi or Multivan GTI. For the moment unfortunately, no information has been given on this GTX version, which should take over the 77 kWh battery already present in the range and whose power should be up from the 204 horsepower of the standard version and distributed between the four wheels. Autonomy, currently displayed at 423 kilometers should then be slightly reduced.
An ID.3 GTX in preparation
But that’s not all, because Volkswagen would also be working on the development ofan unprecedented ID.3 GTX. A new version which will be strongly inspired by the ID.X concept unveiled in May 2021, and whose production was confirmed a few weeks ago by a spokesperson for the brand to our colleagues at Auto Express. He claimed that “for the restyling of the ID.3 we will have very interesting details, and of course we are convinced that we must meet the expectations of our customers who expect a little more power, and four-wheel drive“.
So we just have to wait, while this new GTX version should not see the light of day before next year. She should see her power increase, probably getting closer of the 299 horsepower of the ID.4 and ID.5 GTXthanks among other things to the addition of a second motor on the front axle.
