Apple has finally lifted the veil on the 13-inch MacBook Pro equipped with an Apple M2 chip that has been rumored for several months.
The rumors had therefore been correct: in addition to the all-new 13-inch 2022 MacBook Air, the Apple brand has formalized the new 13-inch 2022 MacBook Pro. The common point between the two devices: the presence of the new Apple M2 processor.
More performance thanks to the Apple M2
Unlike the new MacBook Air 13, the new MacBook Pro 13 does not revolutionize the model. Among the novelties, we find the presence of the M2 chip which allows 39% higher performance than on the previous MacBook Pro 13″ in game and for image editing. It’s even 3.4 times faster than the model equipped with an 8th generation Intel Core i7. Encoding videos in ProRes format would be three times faster according to Apple.
The Apple firm promises 20 hours of video autonomy and it will be possible to configure it with 24 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage space in the form of SSD.
Finally, the design does not change: the 13-inch model retains the Touchbar and does not switch to the MagSafe connector, unlike the 14 and 16-inch models and the new MacBook Air. It will retail for $1,299.
