Huawei has unveiled its new folding phone, the Huawei Mate Xs 2, priced at 1999 euros. It will be released next June.
We expected its next presentation, the Huawei Mate Xs 2 has just been announced by Huawei during its world conference.
The phone has serious qualities to show against the industry leader, the Galaxy Z Fold 3, starting with the promise of a completely flat screen, without any dips, when it is open.
The Chinese giant has also compared itself a lot to its Korean counterpart, arguing that its smartphone is lighter (255g against 271g) and thinner (5.4mm against 6.4mm).
We expected Huawei to come up with a phone that takes more design cues from the Fold, but Huawei sticks with its design that turns a large 7.8-inch screen into a square format (8:7.1 ratio) into a dual screen, front and rear of 6.5 inches (19:9).
The unfolded and folded screen offers a definition of 2480×2200, a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Unfortunately, it retains its main flaw: the absence of Google services.
In terms of the photo configuration, it offers a 50 megapixel main sensor, a 13 megapixel ultra wide angle and an 8 megapixel X3 telephoto lens. Add to that a 10.7-megapixel ultra-wide-angle selfie camera.
The phone will be available in June for 1999 euros. Three colors are available: black, white or purple.
