TCL has just launched a new range of smartphones, the TCL 30. Affordable smartphones – from 179 euros and up to 229 euros – with powerful arguments: AMOLED screen, 5000 mAh battery and neat design.
After televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and even air conditioners, TCL intends to establish itself in France in a new field, that of the smartphone. At the end of last year, the brand launched its TCL 20, affordable smartphones that relied on the quality of their screen. It returns at the start of the year with a new, even more ambitious range, the TCL 30.
Which smartphone from the TCL 30 range to choose?
This range of smartphones is divided into four devices, which are intended for different users and budgets.
- the TCL 30+ and the TCL 30, sold respectively for 229.99 euros and 199.99 euros, have the most muscular technical data sheet: 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, dual speakers with stereo sound, large 5,010 battery mAh and a thickness of less than 8 mm. The TCL 30+, however, has more storage space (128 GB) than the TCL 30 and a 13-megapixel front sensor;
- the TCL 30SE is the most affordable smartphone in the range, starting at 179.99 euros in the 64 GB version and 199 euros in its 128 GB version. Its screen (IPS) is a little smaller (6.52 inches), it is also a little thicker and a little heavier than the classic TCL 30s.
All these smartphones are available in France, notably at Fnac and Darty. Also note that until May 31, for any purchase of a smartphone from the TCL 30 range, TCL systematically offers you a gift (headphones, tablet or television). All you have to do is upload your proof of purchase on TCL’s promotional platform. We explain how to participate at the end of the article.
Here is everything you need to know about each of these smartphones in detail.
TCL30+: big screen, big battery, low price
Of the new range of TCL, the TCL30 + is undoubtedly the most powerful of the newcomers. Above all, it allows the manufacturer to prove that we can offer strong characteristics for less than 250 euros.
Large phone – we are still talking about a 6.7-inch panel – the TCL 30+ is still very pleasant to hold in hand since it weighs only a small 185 grams for less than 8 mm of thickness. The screen relies on AMOLED technology, which is usually found on higher-end smartphones. This offers a Full HD + definition of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. You will therefore be able to enjoy a beautiful display surface for streaming content.
With a triple rear sensor, including a 50-megapixel main camera that allows for beautiful low-light photos, and a 13-megapixel wide-angle front sensor, we can say that the TCL 30+ does not leave the photo on the bench. This configuration makes it possible to face all the situations and even to capture videos in 1080p at 30 FPS.
The rest of the data sheet is made up of a MediaTek G37 chip, with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage with the possibility of expanding the memory with a micro-SD card up to 1 TB. It is capable of collect daily uses such as web browsing or video viewing. Above all, the TCL 30+ can count on a colossal 5,010 mAh battery which makes it particularly durable when combined with its AMOLED screen.
Finally, the TCL 30 and 30+ run natively on Android 12, which saves you an update a few hours after leaving the box. They will benefit from the update to Android 13 (when available) and regular Google security updates. They are also certified Android Enterprise Recommended (EAR).
The TCL30: a few concessions for 30 euros less
If it takes up most of the characteristics of its big brother, the TCL 30 makes a few concessions to soften the final bill. We find similar dimensions, with a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + definition, as well as the same photographic configuration… On the back. The front camera drops to 8 megapixels, which still guarantees good selfies.
Its internal memory also changes and goes to 64 GB. For the rest, we find the excellent autonomy promised by the 5,010 mAh battery. Mutations which, we told you, have an impact on the price since the TCL30 is offered at only 199 euros.
The TCL30 SE: the smallest and the cheapest
More compact than its counterparts, the TCL 30 SE is also the most affordable version. With a price of 179 euros, this smartphone offers a very good compromise between quality and price.
Its 6.52-inch LCD screen offers a good viewing angle; while its HD+ definition allows you to enjoy video content in good quality. On the other hand, the photo module is identical to that of the classic TCL30. So you get the same photographic experience.
The spec sheet welcomes a different chip, the MediaTek Helio G25, but retains the 4 GB of RAM and the 64 GB of memory. Again, basic uses are no problem. Finally, the battery is a bit smaller, but still substantial with a comfortable 5,000 mAh.
