Google is preparing a new router with Wifi 6, or even Wifi 6E. In addition to increasing throughput, this would add a third 6 GHz band.

At the beginning of April, rustlings on the side of 9to5Google hinted that Google was working on a new Nest Wifi. The same 9to5 tells us today that the next version would integrate wifi 6, or even wifi 6E, the latest standard in force. The device would also aim to reconnect with the simplicity of the first Google Wifi.
The future device could be sold in packs of one, two or three depending on your needs. For the moment, it is still unclear whether it will include the Google Assistant, but given how Google puts it forward during its Google I / O, there is still a good chance.
The advantage of these new standards
Speed level, we should expect a capacity close to 9.6 Gb / s, it would be much higher than the 3.5 Gb / s of wifi 5.
WiFi 6E would add a third band at 6 GHz, which would avoid the congestion effect that can be found on the classic 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Such a solution would avoid interference and thus make certain uses, such as cloud gaming, more viable.
The presence of an Ethernet port on the satellites would not be refused either, but for the moment, we do not know if this is part of Google’s plans.
