Launched in China yesterday, the Redmi Note 11 SE essentially takes up the characteristics of the Redmi Note 10 5G, launched in 2021, but with one small detail less: the macro sensor, which this time goes by the wayside.
Yesterday, Xiaomi launched its Redmi Note 11 SE in China. This affordable smartphone is almost identical to the specifications of the Redmi Note 10 5G, a model that we tested last year and which convinced us despite several shortcomings, particularly in terms of display and photo quality.
Unfortunately, it is not with this new Redmi Note 11 SE that Xiaomi will refine its recipe: the device sticks to the achievements of its predecessor. It changes its name, but retains its technical sheet… strangely leaving aside one of its past characteristics. The 2 Mpx macro photo sensor installed on the back of the Note 10 5G thus disappears altogether, GizmoChina tells us.
Technical and pricing stagnation
In terms of specifications, we will therefore find a 6.5-inch Full HD + IPS LCD screen that can go up to 90 Hz, a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor coupled with 4 or 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of internal storage. The set is finally powered by a 5000 mAh battery and comes in two colors: Shadow Black or Deep Sea Blue.
In terms of design, there is nothing new either since we find a look very close to that adopted in 2021 by the Poco M3 Pro 5G. It is also useless to expect a change in the price plan: we are below the 160 euro bar in the starting price. The 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model is thus announced in China at 1099 yuan (i.e. approximately 153 euros excluding tax), while the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage version goes to 1399 yuan (i.e. a little less than 195 euros excluding tax). Note, however, that we do not know, at least at this stage, if this new Redmi Note 11 SE will arrive in France.
Anyway, the device was announced along with a slew of new products, including the Xiaomi Band 7 connected bracelet, the Redmi Bugs 4 headphones and the new Redmibook Pro Ryzen Edition – a laptop PC available in 14 and 15 inches and featuring the latest AMD Ryzen 6000 “H” processors.
