The Xbox application on PC is updating in June and brings some new features. It can now indicate whether your computer is powerful enough to run a particular game and promotes the discovery of new video games.
Xbox announces that it will update its PC application this month. The software is better optimized in the background, runs smoother and more reliably. Microsoft took the opportunity to address a few issues reported by players and “made it easier to navigate, search and install games within the application“. But that’s not all ! Xbox highlights a problem sometimes encountered by players: buying a game, installing it, only to realize that their PC does not have the optimal configuration required to play it in good conditions. Microsoft is therefore rolling out a new feature that indicates how a particular game will run on your machine. Xbox clarifies that “The application now compares the performance of a game on PCs similar to yours, to predict if it will run as it should“.
If there is a problem, the application will inform you about the recommended configurations or what you are missing in terms of components. Be careful though: this indication will not necessarily be present, since Xbox needs information on computers close to yours in performance to know if a particular game is running well.
Discovering new games made easy
Microsoft announces that it hasimproved navigation within the applicationto invite players to discover new titles they wouldn’t have thought of. Navigation is now on the sidebar, the queue of installations in progress has been revised and is displayed at the bottom left of the screen. A notification now informs you when the installation is complete.
The search for video games is improved with a more precise search engine and integrating the catalog of EA Play and Ubisoft Connect. Finally, Microsoft will introduce you to games with new collections, such as “Games to discover together», «side scrollers” or “Panointed and click“.
