Already appearing in betas, the new reaction feature for WhatsApp is now rolling out.

Communications services evolve with the latest trends. The WhatsApp application is a good illustration of this and is constantly enriched with new functions to offer its users better communication.
This time, Mark Zuckerberg announces on Facebook the deployment of an expected function for WhatsApp: reactions to messages.
React with emoji
This is a function that can be found on most services today such as Twitter or Discord and of course Facebook. It allows you to add a reaction emoji directly to a message without taking the place of a new message. This makes it possible to make the conversation more fluid and to give more meaning to the written word where emotions are sometimes difficult to transcribe.
WhatsApp limits the choice of reactions at the moment to only 6 emojis. Platforms like Slack or Discord allow you to choose between all the emojis available, and even the personalized ones offered by the servers. We know that Meta would like to bring together its various messaging services such as Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp. Gold Instagram allows the reaction with all the emojis of the user’s keyboard. We can imagine that the service will in the future offer all the emojis available in the Unicode standard used by all devices.
The new version of WhatsApp is rolling out. You should soon have access to the new feature if you haven’t yet. It also incorporates the ability to send files up to 2 GB rather than just 100 MB, always end-to-end encrypted.
