A successor that goes upmarket
Honor is certainly independent of Huawei, we can not help but find aesthetic similarities between the two manufacturers. With the MagicBook 2016, Honor relies on a neat aluminum design with very beautiful finishes. On the screen side, we are entitled to a 16.1-inch FHD IPS panel with a brightness of up to 300 nits. With the FullView Display, you’ll get an 87.3% screen-to-body ratio with thin bezels. Perfect for multitasking, its large panel also offers a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Result: navigation in the interface is fluid at all times.
And despite its 16.1 inches, it is ideal to accompany you wherever you go, without cluttering you. Its aluminum frame also guarantees lightness, without sacrificing elegance and the feeling of superior quality. We also note the connectors provided, with two USB-C ports, two USB 3.2 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port and a jack. Wi-Fi 6 or Bluetooth 5.1 are also included.
A booster configuration
To make its laptop more durable and efficient over time, Honor has chosen to equip its MagicBook 16 with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor with a frequency of up to 4.4 GHz. The brand provides a performance gain of up to 26% compared to the previous generation, and a 16% improvement in graphics performance. This configuration guarantees good performance for working, browsing the Internet without slowing down or doing creative work such as photo editing.
On the other hand, if the panel offers 144 Hz, we do not find a GPU designed for video games. On this ultrabook, the user experience will be very fluid, where we will appreciate the presence of 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB NVMe M.2 SSD to guarantee excellent fluidity and increased transfer speed, especially to start Windows in seconds. As for autonomy, the Chinese firm promises an autonomy of 8 hours on its ultrabook – enough to be productive a day away from a socket. We will especially appreciate the presence of the 65 W fast charge which will allow us to recover half of the battery in 30 minutes. On the other hand, it will take an hour and a half for 100%. Note that this model natively takes advantage of Windows 11 with all its new features.
