The Zipforce One electrification kit is available throughout Europe to transform your mechanical bike into an electric bike. For a shot of 649 euros.
The rise of the electric bike has prompted some companies to offer alternatives to the outright purchase of an e-bike. This solution is materialized by electrification kits to be installed on its mechanical cycle to transform it into a real connected two-wheeler.
Among the companies positioned in this niche is Zipforce One, which has developed an eponymous system to be installed on its mount. The Swedish band recently made it available across Europe, according to the German site eBike Newsspecializing in cycling news.
Less than 3 kg
The Zipforce One has notably received help from the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT), an institute supported by the European Union. Its principle is based on a system to “clip” on the front or rear wheel of the bike, and whose so-called friction assistance is capable of propelling you at a speed of 25 km/h, as required by the law of the Old Continent.
Weighing 2.7 kilos, the kit is made of 90% recyclable materials and includes an integrated 313 Wh battery, capable of providing between 30 and 50 kilometers of autonomy. The Swedish site M3 table moreover on a radius of 30 kilometers according to their test carried out two years ago.
A lot of noise
Their test also points to the very high noise level of the engine, with which you clearly do not go unnoticed. For the rest, the installation would be relatively simple – about fifteen minutes – and the experience satisfactory. An application even accompanies everything to manage its level of assistance and consult the data of the bike.
Electrification kits have the merit of existing, but however raise questions given their price: at 649 euros, is the Zipforce One worth it or is it better to set your sights on an electric bike of 1200 euros , from which you can in particular deduct 500 euros thanks to certain regional aid – this is the case in Île-de-France.
The cost of such a system is not negligible and the purchase of a turnkey VAE can also be tempting.
