Through its IGNITION business creation program, Honda announces the launch of Striemo Inc., which will arm itself with a three-wheeled electric scooter marketed in Japan by the end of 2022. Europe is also concerned.

Launched in 2017, the IGNITION program aims to give life to projects and other business ideas related to the activities of the Honda group. In 2021, the company decided to extend this project to the scale of the company, and no longer reserve it for external people. From this initiative was born Striemo Inc.
This brand new entity is the second company creation resulting from IGNITION, explains an official press release. Striemo will thus focus – at least initially – on urban mobility devices, as evidenced by its first eponymous product which has the merit of attracting attention.
The sense of balance
The Striemo has everything of a three-wheeled electric scooter, which is supposed to bring a much better balance, according to the brand, and therefore a reduced risk of falling. And whatever your speed: slow or fast (up to 25 km/h, as required by law).
The group focused particularly on the design of the chassis, “where the center of gravity was calculated to the nearest tenth of a millimeter“, can we read. Furthermore, this vehicle is intended for a total user: it was not designed to accommodate a driver and a rear passenger.
In 2023 for Europe
“My goal is to make Striemo one of the most widely used mobility products in everyday life, around the world and to create a better world where people enjoy mobility freedom.», dreams Yotaro Mori, co-founder and CEO of Striemo Inc.
For the moment, no characteristics have been revealed by the brand, which therefore remains very discreet about the capabilities of its scooter. One could logically think that the Striemo is still a project under development, but whose relatively tight commercial schedule will quickly unblock the situation.
The Striemo should indeed be marketed in Japan before the end of the year, before landing in Europe in the course of 2023.
