Launched last year, the LG OLED55C1 TV remains a safe bet, thanks to its very complete technical sheet and its many compatibilities. Fortunately, it is no longer as expensive as usual thanks to a promotion applied by Rakuten, where its price goes from 1,590 euros to 944 euros.

If LG’s C2 OLED TV series has just been released, with its share of improvements, the C1 range is, more than a year after its release, still recommendable. HDMI 2.1, compatibility with the best video standards… The LG OLED55C1 model fulfills all the criteria that one is entitled to expect from a premium and powerful television. At the moment it is even significantly cheaper than usual thanks to an attractive offer.

OLED quality always on point
More than a year after its release, the look of the LG OLED55C1 TV is still having an effect. Even though when designing its C1 series, LG didn’t make big changes in design compared to the previous CX range, the clean lines and thin bezels are still pleasing to the eye. The whole thing is completed by a solid metal foot, which still requires a TV stand large enough to be well placed.
As its name suggests, this television incorporates an OLED panel similar to that fitted to the CX models. Image quality will still be excellent, with its infinite contrasts, deep blacks and rich color palette. These advantages will perhaps make us forget the somewhat average maximum brightness that traditionally accompanies this technology.
A noticeable power gain
Like every year, LG has bet in 2021 on a new processor to ensure higher performance than the previous generation. This C1 therefore embeds the Alpha 9 Gen 4 AI 4K processor, which greatly improves the scaling of HD content, as well as the adjustments to the sound level. Otherwise, we will be entitled to welcome video compatibilities, such as Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10 (but not HDR10+), as well as Dolby Atmos for rich and vast audio. The Filmmaker mode, which can be found on a large number of the brand’s TVs, will also be available, and will allow the image to fit perfectly with the vision of the director of the film viewed.
A model cut out for gaming
If the LG OLED55C1 TV is ideal for making the most of series and films, it is just as ideal for gaming. This reference has the advantage of being equipped with HDMI 2.1 connectivity, which allows [email protected] IPS as well as VRR, or variable refresh rate, useful for combating the phenomenon of tearing, or screen tearing. Add to that a response rate of only 1 ms, as well as G-Sync and AMD FreeSync certifications. The screen is also refreshed at 100 Hz, which will ensure good image fluidity during your sessions. And to top it off, the TV natively integrates the Google Stadia app. In short, a winning combo for playing next-gen consoles.
Finally, this television will run on webOS 6.0, LG’s home interface, which is still as refined as ever. It is also compatible with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and HomeKit. AirPlay2 and Miracast will also be there and will allow you to stream content from a smartphone or tablet. On the connection side, we can count on 4 HDMI 2.1 ports, 3 USB ports, an optical output, a headphone jack, an antenna input, a satellite input and an Ethernet port.
