Fast charging is always faster on the side of many Chinese brands. Vivo is reportedly going even further on a smartphone with 200W charging.

If OnePlus has promised a smartphone with 150W fast charging, the manufacturer could well be caught up by Vivo. According to the latest information, the Chinese manufacturer is developing a 200 W fast charge.
Is Vivo fast?
It’s the leaker Digital Chat Station which revealed this information about Vivo in a message posted on the Chinese social network Weibo, relayed by Android Police. Vivo is reportedly working on a phone that comes with a 20V, 10A fast charger delivering a maximum power of 200W.
A charger that would be backwards compatible with the other standards that Vivo currently uses, namely 120 W, 80 W and 66 W. In theory, therefore, only this charger would be needed for all Vivo smartphones.
A smartphone about which we do not yet know much
According GizmoChina, the manufacturer had initially planned a smartphone with a 100 W charge, before turning around (do you have it?) and doubling this power. This smartphone would be a flagship and premium model for Vivo. Digital Chat Station said that the battery capacity of this phone will be over 4000 mAh. But this is the only information that the leaker communicated. We therefore do not know his name or to which series he will belong.
For comparison, Xiaomi demonstrated a 200W fast charge capable of fully filling a smartphone’s 4000mAh battery in just eight minutes. What to give an idea of the power of the load of this potential model of Vivo.
Is fast charging going too far?
Chinese brands are currently making a point of honor on fast charging, based on large numbers in front of the “W» charging power. Moreover, last December, China launched a consortium with the aim of unifying standards in this area. It brings together well-known manufacturers, such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Honor. Fast charging has even become a war between brands; Realme has been trying to compete with Xiaomi on this point for several months.
But to achieve such performance, it is necessary to pay attention to the heating of the electronic components caused by this powerful load. This raises the question of the lifespan of batteries, in a context of environmental crisis and shortage of components.
