Honor has long been known for delivering smartphones that are as affordable as they are capable. A reputation far from usurped when we see the devices that the manufacturer offers within its X range. A short overview.
2022 is definitely a good year for Honor, which is increasing the number of phone releases. If the manufacturer has decided to tackle the premium market with a particularly successful Magic4 Pro, it does not forget its origins with the X range. With the Honor X7 and the Honor X8, Honor offers two accessible terminals with a lower price. at 240 euros, or even less than 200 euros in the case of the Honor X7.
With very similar technical data sheets on paper, these two smartphones are however distinguished by different positions: one emphasizes autonomy, the other on good performance and a quality camera. We explain everything about the respective advantages of the X7 and X8.
Honor X8: performance and quadruple photo sensor for less than 240 euros
With this Honor X8, Honor offers a very affordable smartphone (less than 240 euros) with a technical sheet that aims for efficiency. The manufacturer has opted for a safe bet with the Snapdragon 680, a SoC which has largely proven itself in recent months and which is here supplemented by 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space. Enough to run most applications and games without problems, provided you do not want to rub shoulders with the most demanding titles of the moment.
It also stands out with a beautiful 6.7-inch Full HD + (2388 × 1080 pixels) LCD screen which has a nice refresh rate of 90 Hz allowing it to ensure a fluid display with nice color rendering. This slab with very thin edges fits perfectly into the chassis of this X8 to give it a pleasing silhouette to the eye, which relies on finesse (7.45 mm thick) and elegance.
The rear panel, which comes in three colors (Midnight Black, Titanium Silver and Ocean Blue) houses a quadruple photo sensor grouped in a square block with almost perfect integration. There is a 64 megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 5 megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor as well as a depth sensor and a sensor dedicated to macro photography which allow this X8 to offer great versatility both in photo and ‘on video. Enough to offer solid and complete services.
Released at the beginning of May, the Honor X8 is currently offered at 239 euros on Honor’s online store. A transparent plastic shell is offered with any purchase.
At the moment, Fnac has put together a pack for you including the Honor X8 and a pair of True Wireless Rebel Twin 2 wireless headphones for 239 euros instead of the usual 299 euros.
Honor X7: a monster of autonomy for less than 200 euros
The X7, for its part, emphasizes autonomy. Honor has indeed equipped it with a 5000 mAh battery compatible with 22.5 W SuperCharge (the charger is supplied in the phone box). In fact, the manufacturer announces an autonomy of nearly 20 hours in streaming and 49 hours in single call. If you don’t like to charge your smartphone every day, the X7 is probably for you.
For the rest, Honor has opted for a technical sheet almost similar to that of the X8, with a Snapdragon 680 at the heart of the system. It makes some concessions on RAM, with 4 GB of RAM. Via its Honor Turbo RAM technology, however, it is possible to push the total to 6 GB by allocating 2 GB of the 128 GB of storage to RAM.
This model is also equipped with a very large panel (6.74 inches) LCD 90 Hz, with a definition of 1600 by 720 pixels. On the rear panel, there is a double photo block which houses on the one hand the main sensor which peaks at 48 megapixels, and on the other hand three sensors: an ultra-wide-angle of 5 megapixels as well as a macro sensor and a depth sensor, both at 2 megapixels.
The Honor X7 is already available at 199.90 euros on Honor’s online store. As was the case for the X8, this X7 is sold with a transparent protective shell.
Also note that Fnac is currently offering you a pack including the Honor X7 in Midnight Black version, a transparent protective shell and a set of tempered glass screen protectors at 199.03 euros instead of 259 euros normally. .
