Seven months after presenting its high-end Mediatek 9000 chip, the Mediatek manufacturer is back with a boosted version called Mediatek 9000+. In terms of maximum frequency, it tickles the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

In November 2021, the Taiwanese company Mediatek unveiled a brand new high-end chip dedicated to our premium smartphones for the first half of 2022. The Mediatek 9000, of its name, also came to walk on the flower beds of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, pulling the rug out from under him with a higher max frequency.
Both processors were indeed based on a mega-core Cortex-X2, but that of the first named could reach a rate of 3.05 GHz, against 2.995 GHz for the second. Qualcomm quickly counterattacked with its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 clocked at 3.2 GHz, to regain the top spot on the podium – and try to fix the heating problems.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 better watch out
It was without counting on Mediatek which returns to the charge on this Wednesday, June 22, 2022. The semiconductor manufacturer presented an improved version of its best processor through an official press release: welcome to Mediatek9000+ , who also strengthens his game on several levels.

Engraved in 4 nm, this Mediatek9000+ takes the lead in terms of frequency: it joins that of its best enemy with a rate of 3.2 GHz, coupled with three Cortex-A710 cores dedicated to performance and four Cortex-A510 cores for smaller tasks. All accompanied by the ARM Mali-G710 MC10 graphics chip.
For the third quarter of 2022
According to Mediatek, CPU and GPU performance increases by 5 and 10% respectively. There is also talk of a fifth-generation APU to manage artificial intelligence computing capabilities. This Mediatek9000+ can also support WQHD+ screens at 144 Hz or FullHD+ at 180 Hz, as well as Bluetooth 5.3.
The first smartphones equipped with this processor will arrive in the third quarter of 2022.
