Apple is taking advantage of WWDC to lift the veil on iOS 16 and all the new features of this new version of the iPhone and iPad operating system. Here are the details on iMessage, Dictation, Apple Cards and Apple Pay.

With iOS 16, Apple brings its share of new features. Here’s an overview of iMessage, Dictation, Apple Cards, and Apple Pay.
iMessages is getting closer to the email client
In the iMessage application, it is now possible to edit a message, send or even recall it before the recipient has read it.
It is also possible to switch from read to unread messages, in order to process your messages more easily.
Finally, Shared Play is arriving in iMessages – in addition to FaceTime as currently – to be able to watch videos or listen to music in real time and remotely with family or friends.
Dictation evolves just like Live Text
Regarding dictation, iOS 16 will bring an improvement: the keyboard will always be visible during dictation, in order to be able to quickly switch from one mode to another. Punctuation will also be added automatically.
But the great novelty is elsewhere: it is the arrival of the Live Text function on videos. It will thus be possible to copy text from a video, provided you pause it! It is already the case in the photos.
Apple Cards: keys and identity documents
The Wallet (Apple Cards) is evolving to now support keys and identity documents. It will thus be possible, for example, to share your digital key (to unlock a digital lock) with your loved ones easily and quickly from the app.
Regarding identity documents, it will be possible to store them digitally in your smartphone, but only in a few American states.
Apple Pay: payment in 4 installments free of charge
Apple Pay is evolving with Tap to Pay, which allows a merchant to pay for a TPE in the form of an iPhone. Enough to manage contactless iPhone to iPhone payments. A feature reserved for the United States for the moment.
The other new feature is Pay Later: as its name suggests, it will be possible to pay in installments, and free of charge, via Apple Pay. Apple announces a payment in four installments spread over six weeks.
