As the firm is now used to, it offers a small augmented reality experience to wait until the opening of its WWDC conference.
Since 2020 and the adaptation to the various confinements, Apple has had to imagine new communication codes for its events. We obviously think of the format of the events, with individual presenters in front of a green screen, but also of the addition of augmented reality experiences. Before each conference, Apple offers a small experience for owners of iOS products and this is again the case for WWDC 2022.
This time, it’s about opening a “booster” pack of a collectible card game, in which there are augmented reality cards in the colors of WWDC.
How do I try out the WWDC Apple Experience?
To try this experience in augmented reality, it’s very simple. All you have to do is go to the Apple page dedicated to the event from your iPhone or iPad with at least iOS 14. Then you have to press the memoji in the center of the image to trigger the loading of the little game. you will have a small deck of cards appear in your environment, wrapped in a small plastic film.
Each booster contains three cards that are renewed each time you launch the experience. Some cards seem rarer than others, including a version by Craig Federighi, the software manager at Apple, with a “Hair Force One” code to decipher on the card.
Each card is actually an Apple Memoji, with one of the WWDC themes. Here software development on a MacBook.
A last teaser before the conference
It’s hard not to think of a RealityOS presentation at WWDC in front of this teaser. It should still be remembered that the firm produces augmented reality teasers for its events as usual now. It is therefore not a question here of warming the spirits on the field of AR, which could become very important in the years to come for Apple.
