The famous Google assistant finally arrives on the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic after almost nine months of waiting. It is already possible to install it.
We knew it couldn’t be long
, here we are finally: Samsung has just announced the arrival of Google Assistant on its connected watch. Shortly after the launch of the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic, we learned that we would have to settle for Bixby in the first weeks of use, instead of Google Assistant. A challenge that ultimately lasted a little over nine months.
The firm even split a small promotional video for the occasion:

The arrival of the Google Pixel Watch next fall has undoubtedly played in the decision of Samsung, so far the only player to offer a watch under Wear OS 3, and which therefore had every interest in pushing its own Bixby assistant.
How to install Google Assistant for Wear OS 3?
To install Google Assistant on your watch, just find the Google Assistant app for Wear OS 3 on your watch’s Play Store. Once the download has started, all you have to do is follow the standard procedure.
Part of the installation goes through your smartphone. You can activate the famous voice commands that will allow you to answer text messages, organize your agenda or do short searches. For now, the watch only seems to activate when you say the magic words “Hey Google”, unlike various Google products which now offer other phrases. If you prefer to go through a physical interaction to invoke the assistant, it is possible to use one of the buttons
It’s also possible for you to activate or not the audio recordings for the improvement of Google products, a welcome choice for a product as sensitive as a voice assistant, which can sometimes be scary.
